Okay here comes my article about the press day of the Power Unlimited Gameplay in The jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Let me start at the part when we went to the jaarbeurs, Maikel, Pascal, Kathy, Kenneth, and I went to the Jaarbeurs to check out some cool game’s on the PS3 Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii, there were also some DS’s and PSP,s and PC,s, however I didn’t really care about those. Now I will tell you “my” story. Once we had arrived I was very anxious to play the Wii, I mean it would be the first time I would be able to play with Nintendo’s newest!

But we decided walk around a little bit and grab some goodie’s first (who doesn’t like free stuff that has to do with games?)The first time I saw a Wii-mote and Nunchuck was at the Ubisoft stand, there was a copy of Rayman Raving Rabbids running there and someone was playing a mini game. I watched it for a little while and then went after the rest. When I was back with the group Pascal and I decided to go grab some goodies, while Maikel and Kathy, were taking pictures. Then we walked near the Wii stand and I asked Pascal if I could play, he replied sure, and there I was playing the Wii! The first game I tried out was Wing island, it was a pretty fun game, but definitely required some getting used to, I liked the way that when you trusted the Wii-mote forward you would get a turbo boost I played it only for a little while because there was more to see.

I went to Pascal who was talking to some Nintendo employees about a press kit, so Pascal and I got one. After talking a little bit more I walked over to a Wario Ware smooth moves pod, one of the Nintendo employees was playing a game but when he saw me he asked if I wanted to play right away, so I finished his game and then started a new one, the minigames were very fun, it really is a shame this game doesn’t come out on launch in Europe. When I finished playing with warioware I went to the Excite truck pod, I really wondered about this game, because the concept didn’t attract me at all, I do not like race games with big trucks and big environments, but when I played the game came out the way it was supposed to be, an unrealistic over the top racing experience, I loved it! once again the controls needed some getting used to, but the first race I went over the finish 3rd place of eight competitors, and the second race I was almost number one but sadly second with a minimum difference, though well I didn’t mind.

After that I went to search for Pascal, I quickly found him and saw that he had an xbox360 press kit, I asked him how he got one, and then got on myself, then I quickly returned to the Wii stand to play a little bit of Wii sports: tennis, on a cool fake grass playing field. One of the Nintendo girls in tennis outfits asked if I wanted to play against the computer or against her, I wanted to play against her so that’s what I replied, it was definitely fun, we played a few rounds, but I really thought serving was the most fun. Then when we were all together again we went to the PSP/PS3 stand, I went to check out the PS3 but could only see a few units and there were already a few people playing on them, since id rather spend my time doing something else I didn’t wait in line to play with the ps3, I just saw some gameplay footage on TV’s and it looked ok I guess but they weren’t my sort of game’s. The Sony stand itself looked awesome though, too bad the content didn’t grab my attention. Well back to the Wii stand, were I tried super monkey ball banana blitz, the game I wanted to play the most since it would be my launch title, I played it for a while and it looks awesome, yet I think I need to play it some more before I can really decide that I will buy it, thus its of my launch list.

Then I went to the xbox360 stand to check out if they had Sonic the hedgehog, because I really wanted to know how that game played, sadly I couldn’t play it for very long because Pascal came to me to tell me that we were going to drink and eat something. So I went with him to Maikel and Kenneth, sadly we had lost Kathy so we all went to search for her, except for Maikel who stayed at the place where he was standing in case she came back, after a while I went back to Maikel and Kathy was there, later on Pascal and Kenneth arrived, we went to the TMF stand where we could sit and get something to drink. Then while the rest was still enjoying the rest, I went to the Wii stand again this time to enjoy Wii sports: boxing, I wanted to try the Nunchuck and this was a good way, I played it against one of the Nintendo employees, it was definitely fun but I am still not sure if it really responded to my actions. When I was done boxing, I wanted to play another game, so I walked around the Wii stand and found a Wii play: air hockey pod empty, I played it against a Nintendo employee, it was very fun even though the controller wasn’t calibrated very well, it was so sensitive…After a while Pascal came, and asked if I wanted to play against him, I said sure so there we went, he had allot of trouble moving the paddle, as did I, it really was to sensitive but anyway it was still fun to play. Then Pascal went elsewhere while I was still hanging around the Wii stand, I decided to play Wario ware and excite truck again, and well they were still cool.

After that I went to another Wii play stand and I could chose the game, so I chose the Mii shape game, a game in which you will have to turn your Mii with the Wii-mote and place it in to a bubble of the same shape and in the same Mii position, it was pretty cool although it did get boring after a while. Then on the same Wii-play pod I played a cow running game, the goal of the game was to hit as many scare crows as possible and if you would move the Wii-mote up in a fast way you could jump over fences, I had a great time with that minigame, then Pascal called me on my cell phone to tell me they would play Wii spots: tennis on the tennis court. So after I was done with the game on Wii-play I hurried to the tennis court and was just in time to play, it was really fun playing this with 4 people, Maikel and I were teamed up against Pascal and Kenneth, Maikel and I won hehehe.

Well I think that’s about it for Thursday. I went to the power unlimited gameplay again on Saturday, and there are only a couple of things that I have to say about that day. When I arrived there I saw it was busy immediately, dang those lines were long. The sound was way too loud, the speakers nearly exploded and it wasn’t good for your ears either. The highlight of that day has got to be Rayman raving rabbids, I played FPS level in which you had to shoot the Rabbids with plungers, that was extremely fun! The worsted experience was when I came to the PU stand to claim my goodie (which was promised on the website, the said if you bring your DS you get a goodie) When I arrived there they said o sorry that’s not happening, but do you have a PSP? No I don’t have a PSP I replied, and here it comes they said…..Well you should have bought one then……That was like the lamest thing I have ever heard, so I told them the DS was 10 times better and stuff and they could **** my ***** well not really but I was thinking it. I don’t think I will be on that event next year, but the press event would be cool though. Well that’s it! THE END!
