The Nisute team takes a closer look at the new third party hardware from Nyko to tell you if it’s any good… After all, a cheaper alternative is always welcomed, right? Nyko was kind enough to offer us these units for a test run, and curious as we are, how could we resist?
By the way, if anyone thinks ‘this could be done so much better’… we agree. We have the equipment, but we lack editors. If you think you’re up for the job and want to spend some time to help us deliver videos of a much higher quality, be sure to let us know; we would like to talk about the possibilities.

Microsoft wont cut the 360 but will cut the price!

The 360 elite will be getting a price cut this Friday a amazing $100,- This is what Kotaku told us:
The publisher told Kotaku, and it’s top selling model of the console is being phased out.
The 120GB Xbox 360 Elite will sell for $299.99, while the popular 60GB Xbox 360 Pro will be cut to $249.99. Despite being Microsoft’s current top selling model, production of the the Xbox 360 Pro has already stopped, Aaron Greenberg, director of product management for xbox 360, said.
“With the Pro console we are dropping the price down $50 to $249 while supplies last,” he said. “Moving forward we will have two (models), the $199 Arcade and the Elite console for $299.”
The $299 Elite will have one difference from the current models of the Elite, Greenberg said, it will no longer ship with an HDMI cable.
Greenberg said the price drop is a direct result of lowered production costs.
“As we continue to refine and make improvements on the internal components for the Xbox 360 and costs come down we pass those savings on to our customers in the form of price drops,” he said.
The decision to do away with the middle-of-the-road Xbox 360 Pro, which was selling for $299, was driven by a desire to simply Xbox gamer’s choices, he said, pointing out that Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 with just two models.
Microsoft’s price drop comes a week after Sony announced that their priciest version of the Playstation 3 was getting a $100 price drop and the company unveiled a sleeker version of their console, dubbed the PS3 Slim, which would sell for $299. Sony’s new prices hit over the next week.
Greenberg calls the timing of Microsoft’s price drop news a coincidence, denying that it was in response to Sony’s price drop.
“We plan out what we want to do and how we do it years ahead,” Greenberg said. “Many months ahead we get into the details, like the price and dates. This has been in the works for months and months.
“I think it’s a bit coincidental but it’s also somewhat logical, with both (Sony and Microsoft) making price adjustments at this time of the year because we are turning the corner of the holiday season.”
Although Microsoft seemed to match Sony’s price drop news this week, unlike Sony and despite rumors to the contrary, they didn’t announce a slimmed down version of the Xbox 360. And Greenberg says one won’t be coming.
“We feel great about our console,” he said. “We have taken a different philosophy, adding more value to our existing console through updates and reinventing the system software.”
“We feel like our system has done very well for us in the current form. We have no plans for a slim.”
Greenberg also reiterated that this generation of gaming console from Microsoft will be around for quite a bit longer.
“We feel that we’re not even at the halfway point (of the Xbox 360′s life cycle),” he said. “That is something we believe in strongly. People have invested in these consoles, and we have massively connected communities and we have storage. I think what we did with the New Xbox Experience is a sign of what we want to do with the console.”
Another, he said, is Microsoft’s recently announced Project Natal which allows gamers to play games using a video camera and the console.
“It will work with our Xbox 360 system,” he said. “I think that will add to the longevity of the system.
“The Xbox 360 has plenty of future.”
Gamescom: Ankama part 2

Well, Ankama gave us the oppurtunity to answer some of the dofus-community questions. Have fun reading!!!
1) Ankama is now putting a lot of effort into “class balancing”, which raises a lot of concern from players whose builds get heavily modified. Why is 1vs1 PvP the main source for the balancing? Ankama has long emphesized team play (dungeons, prospecting locks, etc), so shouldn’t the usefullness of classes in all sorts of fights, such as group PvM and team PvP, be considered? Read more

For fans of Dementium: The Ward, I won’t bore you with the specifics of the franchise, but I will say, Dementium is a survival horror for the DS. Yes, the Nintendo DS. This in itself makes the game quite interesting, but there were some good points worth mentioning, and a handful of updates from the previous Dementium title. Read more
Nintendo Europe let gamescom to Nintendo Germany

Everyone at the GamesCom had seen it, most were unpleasantly surprised, most were simply disappointed. Nintendo was at the GamesCom, but in a really small set up. So what was the story behind it?

Straight from the beginning Nintendo Europe was doubting if they would go. Together with Nintendo Germany they made all kinds of plans and were more or less saying that they will go. Even the world press was not fully aware of what was exactly going on. Until.. just about a week before the GamesCom Nintendo Europe decided to let it all go. Why? even Nintendo Germany was left in the dark. Nintendo Germany didn’t have enough time to get things off in a better start and was totally blown away by the mass. Even the Press boots were barely there.
Nintendo Germany really hopes now that Nintendo Europe won’t make the same mistake next year.

Blizzard Planning Pseudo-LAN Support for StarCraft 2, Diablo 3 to Follow Suit

Battle.net developer Greg Canessa says that Blizzard is actively working on a LAN-like solution to include for Battle.net play in StarCraft II.
“We are working on solutions with regard to things we can do to maintain connectivity to Battle.net in some way, but also provide a great quality connection between players,” said Canessa. Blizzard recently announced that traditional LAN play would not be included in the game, with offline play only being allowed in the singleplayer campaign.
Diablo III lead designer Jay Wilson also confirmed that Diablo III will treat LAN in the same way that StarCraft II does, meaning that while traditional offline LAN will not be included in that game, it should support any Battle.net solution developed for the RTS.

New DLC Mass Effect revealed on Swiss website.

The Swiss Xbox website has revealed the contents of the Pinnacle Station DLC for Mass Effect.
This “remote, top-secret space station” offers 13 battle scenarios for Shepard (at Spectre level) to tackle, and adds around “2-3 hours” of gameplay in total. And that’s it, according to a translation on the ME forums.
Pinnacle Station costs 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40 / €4.80). The file is 237MB and has a publish date of 16th June on the Swiss website, which is evidently wrong. No other region with an Xbox website mentions the content, as far as can be seen.
The listing follows the appearance of three extra Achievements for Mass Effect, which are based on the new content. BioWare has been talking about making an arena or Fight Club-style addition for Mass Effect since February, although we’ve heard little of late.
