Capcom Delays some great games people are waiting for.

December 23, 2009 by

According to Capcom USA the dissection to set games back till the start of Capcom’s financial year (this is April) has been done for the following reasons:

・Avoid competing with the major titles that other companies plan to introduce
in the 4th quarter
・Preserve the value of Capcom’s titles and maximize sales volume
・Expand the lineup of titles in the next fiscal year and afterward

Games that are delayed are:

Lost Planet 2
Death Rising 2
Super Street Fighter 4
and Monster Hunter 3 (Tri)

This does not mean that the games will or can be released short after April. It can also mean that it will be later in the financial year of Capcom. Although we really want these games today Capcom is afraid they will lose money to other games that recently came out or are soon to come out.

  1. Sad really sad but lets just hope its for the better.

  2. Well, not very surprising.
There are too many game releases.
Most of the games don’t sell well, but editors still keep on releasing more and more in order to make up for the losses.
Silly. Just release LESS games and they will sell more, so more income means more profits and so on.

  3. I work in a gamestore, and I’ve seen the planned release list. First thought was, wth, so many new games? It’s really competitive in the industry right now, more sells, less quality.

  4. Kevin Ketelaars says:

I think more small games find their way to the big list because of the lack of big games right now.

  5. I shure hope so. But im glad that Monster Hunter 3 will be out in April
