Although XCOM 2 was originally exclusively released for PC only, game publisher 2K just announced that the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown will finally find its way to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this summer, on September 9th 2016. The previous game was a reboot of the original XCOM series, that originated in the early nineties.
Since both Enemy Unknown and the expansion Enemy Within were released on PS3 and Xbox 360, it was a matter of time before XCOM 2 found its way to home consoles as well.

In this sequel, players take control of the Earth’s resistance forces as they try to liberate the earth after it has been taken over by Alien Forces after the conclusion of XCOM: Enemy Unknown. With the earth being under alien control, the second game focuses more on stealth and guerilla tactics than its predecessor, but will still feature trademark mechanics such as base building.
