During E3 we finally got to know more about Microsoft’s mysterious Project Scorpio. Its new name is Xbox One X and the console is basically an upgraded version of the regular Xbox One. Microsoft also revealed a lot of games during the press conference of almost two hours. This round up got you covered.

The show started with the presentation of the Xbox One X. This new console has 6 teraflops of graphical power, more than competitor PS4 Pro, with 4.2 teraflops. The GPU runs on 1172MHz, while the current Xbox One runs on 853MHz. Microsoft focussed a lot on the 4K capabilities of the Xbox One X, made possibly by an Ulta HD Blu-ray. The console will launch November 7 for 499 dollar. Currently, you can buy the standard version for around 250 dollar, which makes it questionable if you want to pay twice as much for a graphical update.

A lot of the video games at Microsoft press conference were third-party titles. One of the most interesting ones came from BioWare. Anthem got a long trailer after the game got revealed yesterday and it looks promising. You wear an exosuit to explore the sci-fi open world together with a maximum of four friends. The trailer shows a jungle-like area where the wildlife makes it dangerous. Monsters are everywhere.

Sea of Thieves is the Xbox One exclusive that impressed the most. This time we got a 9-minute trailer which took us to the ships, under water, on an island, and inside a dungeon. What we were doing? Well, we are pirates, so let’s get treasure hunting! The humour of the story teller and the art style simply let you fall in love with this game. We can’t wait until the launch early 2018.

Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, also had a big surprise during the show. This year Microsoft will add new games that are compatible with the Xbox One: Xbox games. One game Spencer noticed is the beloved game Crimson Skies.
Although Microsoft focused on the 4k capabilities of the present games, all of them can be played on the regular Xbox One. Most of the games at the Microsoft Press Conference even can be played on the PlayStation 4. We don’t really see the need of paying a lot more money for the more powerful Xbox One X. The lack of exclusives make our feeling even stronger.
