The big N has been using Nintendo Directs during E3 some years now, and they never felt like the main event of Nintendo’s year. This year the publisher took it a lot more serious with some huge announcements and new trailers for upcoming games. Gamers have some serious Nintendo exclusives to add to their wish lists.

The hype was official when Nintendo showed a logo of Metroid Prime 4. After years of absence, Samus Aran finally seems to return, although no details got revealed. We don’t know when we will play it and what it exactly looks like, but the idea that the title is in the work makes a lot of gamers happy.

Same goes for the Pokémon news at Nintendo Spotlight E3. We learned that Game Freak is developing a Pokémon RPG for the Nintendo Switch, without getting any details. One thing is sure: by finally making a Pokémon RPG for a console, Nintendo is listening to the fans.

The Super Mario Odyssey trailer showed that Mario is getting more inventive than ever. This time players will get to control a dinosaur by using Mario’s hat, but it can also interact with a bullet or tank. The game will launch October 27th.

There were some concerns that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 wouldn’t reach 2017, but the game developed by Monolith Software got confirmed for holiday 2017. It was actually the first title Nintendo showed during the live stream, and the world and monsters look as huge as expected.

Nintendo other surprises were a Kirby game and Yoshi game, both coming to the Switch in 2018. Kirby can befriend enemies this time instead of eating them for their abilities. Yoshi looks like the previous Woolly World platformers, but this time it is built out of a cardboard. Players can use this mechanic to flip over to 2D levels.
