Patrick: different types

Gaming has evolved through the years. Which was one a little toy you plug into a TV, now becoming a sport. The average gamer’s age is around 30, while gamers are usually between the ages of 4 and 30. It is both a hobby to some, and extremely serious to others. There are many different types of Gamers, Casual, Hardcore, PC Gamers, and Fanboys.

Casual Gamers are gamers who are new to gaming and usually own 1 console. They usually play sport games like Madden, halo, and the 2K series, games like Wii Fit, Wii Sports, and Wii play, games like Mario and Kirby, and PC games that include Runescape, Webkinz, Neopets, Toontown, and Maplestory. The age group of Casual gamers is usually 4-15.

Hardcore gamers usually have more than 3 consoles and gaming is one of their main hobbies. They love almost any game for any system.

PC Gamers are Gamers who, well like the title says, play mainly or only PC games which include First-Person-Shooters like Half-Life, Counter-Strike, Battlefield, Call of Duty, and other First-Person-Shooters like it, Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Games like World of Warcraft, Everquest, Kal Online, and many others.

Fanboys are gamers that only like one company, play any game for the system, and defend the company that they love. They are usually hated and hated upon by fanboys of other consoles or people who think they are plain annoying.

Many people think all gamers are anti-social and have no life, while in some cases is true, but is not correct. Many hardcore gamer I know have tons of friends and have gotten many girlfriends in the past. My friend has all the Pokemon games, has almost every console, and wears a gaming shirt to school everyday, while my other friend is not really a gamer, and is not really popular.

It has nothing to do that you are a hardcore gamer or have every game in existance, you just need to get real friends who will like you for who you are. So don’t go the extra mile to pretend you are someone you are not, just be yourself. So some people will not like you, who cares? You won’t care when you are around people who actually like what you do.
