Wayne Puckett on Budget Titles

Being a gamer is kind of hard these days. It’s nice to have that escape from reality every once and a while but pricing for new games makes it tough. That’s why I suggest to give another look at some older games that were, (and still are), pretty good but may not exactly have been worth 45EUR. ($60.00US)

Red Faction – A fun romp through the planet Mars’ landscape, all the while breaking everything that you can see. It has a decent single player story and the online is very fun. WIth different types of shooter-style gameplay, it’s not truly groundbreaking or anything but being able to smash through a wall with a hammer to get to your opponent and then finishing them with that same hammer is kind of gratifying in a sick little way. It’s rated Mature for Blood, Strong Language and Violence. I’ll admit that I’m not very far into the story but there’s not any blood or gore that I’ve come across. (yet) For 15EUR ($20) new it’s definitely worth checking out. Read more

Or do they? I don’t think so, although the biggest part of the gaming community does think girls and games don’t mix.

“Girl Gamers only play puzzle games or kiddy games with Barbie’s, ponies or other cute pets in it while eating candy and dressed up in pink dresses right?”

Capcom’s recently published financial report for the first half of the current fiscal year contains somefairly gutsy estimates for sales expectations of the developer’s upcoming titles; for instance, the report anticipates selling 300,000 copies of Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition by March 31, 2010. However, the company expects one game to be its biggest blockbuster by a fairly enormous sales margin: Lost Planet 2, which, according to the report, will sell 3.7 million copies in the second half of FY 2010.

That’s a fairly monumental increase compared to the sales statistics for the original Lost Planet, which has sold 2.28 million units life-to-date according to VGChartz. Don’t get us wrong; we’ve enjoyed what we’ve seen from the game thus far. However, if Capcom’s hoping to approach that target, they may want to consider a huge advert campaign, for good measure.

Capcom PS3 and 360

Today we had a nice meeting with Capcom to see a short presentation about the Moto GP 09/10, Lost planet 2, and Dark Void. So read on below for our impressions!

Moto GP 09/10

As exiting as I want it to make it sound. but I never played the ones before so I really can’t say if it’s better or worse than the ones before. but i can tell you this:
