Now that Nintendo stands firmly on new soil with the Nintendo 3DS, they have gained more third party developers that are interested in the technology. The 3DS has interesting technology that has so much potential and gives developers a tool that allows them to make more original games and hopefully develop the tool into something even bigger!
Update:
Yesterday we really had a hard time with keeping up with the news so here is a lineup of all you can expect from Nintendo. And more.

Ubisoft… what have I just seen?!

So I just watched Ubisoft’s presentation on E3, which was the last one of today and I don’t know what I just saw. The presentations didn’t have a solid structure to them and everything felt a bit chaotic, especially during the the laser tag game. During the presentation a few big titles have been announced, and a few indy projects.

The presentations started off with a man standing in front of a Kinect and the big screen, waving his arms around and seems to be directing a circle on the screen. The game looks flashy and fun in some parts but I didn’t know what it was about since it had no clear goal what the player is supposed to do. Was it a game actually? The man is Tetsuya Mizuguchi and he is the director of the game called “Child of Eden“.

Next up was Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. Read more

As the release date is drawing closer and closer the guys at Ubisoft fire up their game promotion engine just a little bit more. Alluding to some of the relentless action we can expect in the game, the latest trailer gives a taste of just how much our mysterious hero has is stacked against him. Exploding trains, motorbike-riding sadists and chain-gun-wielding heavies… It’s going to be one hell of a day in Caldera.

Fan-made Asassins Creed short-film “Initiation” impresses

“Initiation” takes place before Altair has received the coveted title of “Hashshashin.” Like all young men, Altair aspired to leave his mark on the world. After years of grueling training, fear and anticipation course through his veins. Anticipation, because he understands that this is the last right of passage towards brotherhood. Fear, because he knows that though hundreds of apprentices have reached this point, few come back alive.

Splinter cell conviction Dev diary 3

We’ve got another two months to go before the release of Splinter Cell Conviction. That’s plenty of time, it would seem, for Ubisoft to tease us relentlessly with more information and gameplay snippets, as evidenced by the latest trailer. It’s filled with a mess of information for returning Splinter Cell fans, and capped off by the realization that, “For the first time, you’ll feel what it’s like to be one of those NPCs hunted by a Splinter Cell.” And yes, that prospect looks just as terrifying as it sounds.

3D gaming: probably doomed

Have you ever seen people wearing silly-looking glasses while watching a movie? Ever wondered what the deal was with those? Well, even if you haven’t, I’ll explain it anyway. They are watching what some people call a 3D movie. It works simply by letting one eye see the image from one camera angle, and the other eye sees the same scene from a slightly offset camera angle, creating a stereo image for your eyes. Through this process, the viewer is given the illusion that he sees the movie in 3D. Read more

Not surprised when the first of three episodes in the Assassin’s Creed: Lineage miniseries, created by Hybride Studios, exceeded our expectations. These guys did the effects for 300 and Sin City so yeah we tought it was worth keeping an eye on. But we were just struck by how they made a game short in such a high quality. Read more
